Netflix Casts Perfect Star for Mr. 2 in One Piece Season 3
The Secret Organization is geared up to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t take place until season 3, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed this week that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Mr. 2. This character possesses the power to transform into an exact copy of any person they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that character reimagined as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the original manga and animated series.
The new cast member is joined by several other fresh additions tasked with bringing Baroque Works to the screen, such as leader the main antagonist, portrayed by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the lineup as the ruler of the fictional land.
Though this character is a key figure of Baroque Works, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this signals a major departure in the placement of their first appearance, one that could suggest more adjustments to the plot development.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the role. In addition to their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is due to premiere for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
