Iran Reports Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a number of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
