Former Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a former physician stands accused of committing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
