Esteemed Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.

US entertainer Finn, who appeared in iconic programs like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles on Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per news outlets.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones said in a announcement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

An Extensive Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several well-known programs, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

A Life in Improv

Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.

The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
